Here's the thing in less than 10 days I have a weekend long spring festival so I plan to work for the next 9 ish days on building up some stock. I do have a new project this week but what I figured would work best is to post a little late. So I'm thinking of posting on Sunday or Monday and combining the two weeks so that I can concentrate on stock building. I'm getting a bit nervous about the amount of things I'll have available. I'm so incredibly excited too. I cant wait to share with you the project I'm working on. I'm hoping it will be a bug seller. It is a very 'green' item so I think it will be a big hit. So I hope you all tune in this weekend to check it out. And I promise out regular schedule will resume after the Festival weekend. I thank you all for hanging in there with me and for all your support and understanding. </p>
<p dir="ltr">As always I welcome and appreciate all comments. If anyone has any tips on decorating my booth and or selling tips I greatly appreciate those as well. </p>
<p dir="ltr">Happy Hooking!<br>

<div style="text-align: center;">
OMGOSH!! My deepest apologies yarnies, crafters, friends and hookers. I know technically it is not Thursday anymore and I feel horrible that I am so late in posting. I do hope you will all forgive me. And I think you are going to really like what this weeks project is. So without further ado........ </div>

<div style="text-align: center;">
I found this really neat pattern a couple of years ago for Crochet Cabled Bracelets but I never got around to trying it out. Well I decided now's as good a time as any. I'm sad to say however that I cannot find the original place from which this pattern came. I will gladly share it with you all if you'd like. There are also a couple bracelets in here of my own design. Well lets see some pictures. Enjoy!</div>

All of the projects made this week were made using <a href="http://www.yarnspirations.com/lily-sugar-n-cream" target="_blank">Lily's Sugar n' Cream Cotton Yarn</a>. I just love their variegated looks. This project was super fun and easy and I'm so happy to share it with you all. </div>

Please don't forget to click on the 'we're on the fence' button (top left) to vote for my blog. Also check out the cool Stash-buster Link Party button on the right. Lots of great things being made out there so go check em out.</div>

<div style="text-align: center;">
So that's it folks...that's this weeks installment of the Project of the Week (better late than never right). I hope you like what you saw. Please tell me your thoughts in the comments section below. I love hearing from you all and I will reply. I've got a big weekend long festival coming up in a few weeks and I'd love to hear some great project ideas from you all. I'm looking for summer themed projects that are not too time consuming (meaning I can get a few done in a week at least) and that are use-able to most everyone. I realize cotton is a big factor in these projects and I have lots of it. I cant wait to hear your suggestions. Until next time......</div>

<span style="font-size: large;">Hello</span> all you wonderful peeps out there in the crafting world and beyond. How are you all this week? First let me apologize for not having a sneak peek this week. I was experiencing some technical difficulties with Wi-Fi but we are back up and running again. </div>

<div style="text-align: center;">
I'm excited. I've been wanting to do this project for awhile. It just took a little longer because I was searching for just the right pieces. </div>

<div style="text-align: center;">

<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
Then there's <a href="http://mysweetsomethings.blogspot.com/2012/06/free-pattern-friday-reusable-crochet.html" target="_blank">Cotton Facial Scrubbers</a> which are just awesome. So instead of buying disposable make-up remover pads these little beauties take the place and they are completely washable and dry-able. And they work just as well. Use them for make-up removing or for applying your daily stringent/cleanser. I'm sure those who wear make-up and those who stick to a daily cleansing ritual will find many wonderful uses for these. And they are adorable.<br />

Here's the first piece I made which fed my desire to create spa sets and led me in search of other items to go with the <a href="http://crochet.about.com/od/bath/ss/mcablecloth.htm" target="_blank">Mini Cable Face Cloth</a>. I absolutely love this pattern. And it looks so elegant. </div>

<span style="color: red; font-size: large;">Hello there</span> yarnies, crafters, hookers and all, I hope you are ready for this weeks <span style="color: orange; font-size: large;">Project of the Week.</span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
I saw this set on a Bernat pull (you know one of those papers that hangs in the yarn isles with awesome cute patterns). Anyway I searched and searched the <a href="http://www.yarnspirations.com/bernat" target="_blank">Bernat website</a> but I cannot find this pattern. But they do have other great patterns available. </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Anywho here we go.......this weeks project of the week....is <span style="color: #0c343d; font-size: large;">Tray Liner and Coasters</span>.....</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">

<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
So I did three sets and I love them all. But this is my favorite. Offspring #1 actually chose these colors. And I think he was right on. </div>

<br /></div>
<div style="margin: 0px; text-align: center;">
I really liked this set too. Sometimes variegated yarn is so nice to work with. I like to see the patterns they create. You can use the same variegated color scheme on different projects and get such a different look with each one. </div>

<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
These tray liners measure approx 11"x14" and the Coasters are approx 4" square and they are made with 100% cotton so they are washable. I think they add a lot of style to a typical try liner.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
I'm hosting a Tupperware Party in my home in a couple weeks and I'm thinking this will be a great way to spice up the table. Problem now being deciding which one to use. I think they all look wonderful.<br />
<br />
Well there ya have it friends. I am working on a table runner/place mat set but I didn't finish it in time for tonight's post. I found another great pattern that I wanted to try but I changed a few things and decided to try my hand at making my own design. So I will show you all that in a few days.<br />
<br />
<br />
I hope you have enjoyed this weeks Project of the Week.<br />
Do you have a project you'd like to see me make one week? Please feel free to comment below and tell me. These sets will be available in the <a href="https://www.etsy.com/shop/CrochetByKatieK" target="_blank">Etsy Shop</a> later on tonight. Don't forget you can custom order any color scheme you want.<br />
<br />
Till next time<br />
Happy Hooking<br />

HELLO all my fellow hookers, yarnies and crafters how's everyone doing tonight? Hope you all have a had a relaxing or productive weekend. Whichever you were going for. ;)</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Is everyone ready for a sneak peek of this weeks Project of the Week?</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
I'm not sure what kind of hint to give for this project. It can be classified as a kitchen item and a summer item. </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-jBSY0Qr17Ec/U0HkbNlUuQI/AAAAAAAAGsE/yXoeTpaGaQ8/s1600/20140406_192857.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-jBSY0Qr17Ec/U0HkbNlUuQI/AAAAAAAAGsE/yXoeTpaGaQ8/s1600/20140406_192857.jpg" height="240" width="320" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Hmmm? Any guesses??<br />
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-qE5J9uoAbmc/U0HtV_Jrw6I/AAAAAAAAGsY/JXaBMyFoyDQ/s1600/20140406_200949.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-qE5J9uoAbmc/U0HtV_Jrw6I/AAAAAAAAGsY/JXaBMyFoyDQ/s1600/20140406_200949.jpg" height="320" width="240" /></a></div>
<br />
The possible color combos are endless. This is the set I'm currently in the middle of.<br />
So that's the sneaky peek. Stayed tuned for Thursdays Project of the Week reveal. ;)<br />
<br />
=====================<br />
<br />
In other news this weekend I signed Offspring #5 up for Girls Softball yesterday. Cant wait for that to start. I love homeschooling my kids but I do find that I need to sign them up for more activities to remain social. So I hope this works for her. She has tons of energy and I think she'll like it.<br />
<br />
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~<br />
<br />
This weekend we were super blessed to have our great niece and great nephew overnight. My bestie brought her youngest offspring with her and we made <a href="http://www.howdoesshe.com/perfect-stocking-stuffer/" target="_blank">play-doh</a>. That was super fun and totally surprising. It actually works. I forgot to take pics while we were mixing ingredients etc. I mean with 5 kids and two pots going I wasn't really thinking about my phone lol.<br />
<br />
<table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center;"><tbody>
<tr><td style="text-align: center;"><a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-wIPNmyfaqJw/U0H4ZKK1MiI/AAAAAAAAGsw/9rzy9lsGWkM/s1600/20140405_182428.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><img border="0" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-wIPNmyfaqJw/U0H4ZKK1MiI/AAAAAAAAGsw/9rzy9lsGWkM/s1600/20140405_182428.jpg" height="320" width="240" /></a></td></tr>
<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">Here it is in the final stages...heating it up until it forms a ball. Yikes that's an arm workout. ;)</td></tr>
</tbody></table>
But then........<br />
<span id="goog_562232807"></span><span id="goog_562232808"></span><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-sKv_Y0dLP9A/U0H_nRxxAWI/AAAAAAAAGtI/tiIU7xqeq7U/s1600/20140406_211920.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-sKv_Y0dLP9A/U0H_nRxxAWI/AAAAAAAAGtI/tiIU7xqeq7U/s1600/20140406_211920.jpg" height="400" width="300" /></a></div>
<br />
and....<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-n5zLmP5fAgU/U0H_nXGzDeI/AAAAAAAAGtc/fbklnANeMA0/s1600/20140406_211913.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-n5zLmP5fAgU/U0H_nXGzDeI/AAAAAAAAGtc/fbklnANeMA0/s1600/20140406_211913.jpg" height="320" width="240" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
AND THEN.......<br />
<br />
<table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center;"><tbody>
<tr><td style="text-align: center;"><a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-nQVonPXry1Y/U0H8Bq2JbMI/AAAAAAAAGs8/n5T5mlv7Pt8/s1600/20140405_191548.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><img border="0" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-nQVonPXry1Y/U0H8Bq2JbMI/AAAAAAAAGs8/n5T5mlv7Pt8/s1600/20140405_191548.jpg" height="240" width="320" /></a></td></tr>
<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">this happened....are they not some of the cutest kids ever. They loved the play-doh. </td></tr>
</tbody></table>
Its such an easy recipe and really a little ingredients go a long way. I will totally be making more very soon. The end result is awesome. They all played with it all day today. I'm putting this in the win column. </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
So that's all for this Sunday night. Lets hear those guesses about the Project of the Week. And let me know if there's a project you want to see me do. ;) </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
As always Happy Hooking </div>
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Hello my fellow hookers, yarnies and crafters I hope you all are well.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Are you ready for the <span style="color: #cc0000; font-size: large;">Project of the Week</span>?? </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="color: #e69138; font-size: x-large;">Crochet Flip Flops!!!</span> I love wearing flip flops. Ask The Guy. The whole first year we dated I wore flip flops everywhere we went. It didn't matter if we were walking the Cliff Walk in Newport or walking several times around our favorite lake. (we walked a lot that summer) He must've thought I was crazy. I wear my flippy floppy's everywhere. I love them!! I have many many pairs. So imagine my excitement when I found a pattern for Crochet Flip Flops. Seriously?? Two of my most favorite things combined. SOLD!!! </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
This is where I found this wonderful <a href="https://www.etsy.com/shop/Mamachee">pattern</a>. It was not free but I tell you it was well worth the $$. Not expensive. Very clear instructions, several different sizes included and even a list of instructions for sole variations. </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="float: left; margin-right: 1em; text-align: left;"><tbody>
<tr><td style="text-align: center;"><a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-Ex02c0Kaua0/Uz3KgNmUtMI/AAAAAAAAGkk/ynkMBM3Tp6c/s1600/20140403_132159.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><img border="0" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-Ex02c0Kaua0/Uz3KgNmUtMI/AAAAAAAAGkk/ynkMBM3Tp6c/s1600/20140403_132159.jpg" height="320" width="240" /></a></td></tr>
<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;"><br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br /></td></tr>
</tbody></table>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
This first pair I made are a size 7-8 and I used the rubber soles from a pair of store bought flip flops of mine. This is one of the sole variations listed in the pattern. I really like this one since it allows me to wear these outside. Yay!! </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-ucVtlD1UjLw/Uz3Loi6OpnI/AAAAAAAAGlI/AZHzrAEvSfg/s1600/20140403_132250.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-ucVtlD1UjLw/Uz3Loi6OpnI/AAAAAAAAGlI/AZHzrAEvSfg/s1600/20140403_132250.jpg" height="320" width="240" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
These two pairs were made using two crocheted soles sewn together. Which make a perfect Flip Flop Slipper. The pair on the left are a size 7-8 and the pair on the right are 3-4. With the 3-4 size I wanted them to fit my little 8 year old so I used a H-7 (4.5mm) hook instead of the I size hook called for when making the top strap. It made them just a hair smaller for my kiddos little feet. </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<div style="text-align: center;">
Here's 2 of the finished 3-4 size with my kiddos feet in them. ;) <br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
So this pair I made in a size 3-4 using the jute variation. 1 strand of cotton and 1 strand of jute together for the bottom part of the sole and 2 strands of cotton together for the top part of the sole (sewn together). These are a bit sturdier than just the cotton sole alone but I'm not sure they would make a great outdoor shoe. Maybe on the patio but I wouldn't say for going to the market.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<div style="text-align: center;">
I had so much fun making these and my kiddos and I absolutely love them. I'm so excited to have flip flop slippers for the summer around the house. I don't like being completely barefoot but my moccasin slippers will be too hot for the summer. These are perfect. I cant say that enough. I will be making more of these in lots of colors for that you can be sure. Take a look at all of the ones I did this week. I averaged about a pair a day basically. </div>
<span style="color: #cc0000; font-size: x-large;">April Fools Day!!! </span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
haha ok not funny seriously wish I had won a million dollars so my wonderful man who completely supports our family could quit the horrible job that he has. They treat him like crap and use him relentlessly. Its awful and I hate seeing him so stressed out all the time. Someday I pray my business will be a booming success and he can sit back and finally relax and fish all day like he wants to. </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
I love him to the moon and back and appreciate all that he does for us. And I wish for better days at work for him at the very least. </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
==================</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
I've been working away at the <span style="color: #38761d; font-size: large;">Project of the Week</span> and have 3 pairs done now. ;) Only 2 more days until the reveal. I've got time to get another 2 pairs done at least so let me hear those color suggestions. 2 colors needed!!! Its so nice to have a list of projects in front of me to watch them getting checked off each week. I've done 4 projects so far. This is very exciting. I am actually staying on track. </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
=================</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
This is a big busy month with Easter and Earth Day around the corner, I'm hosting a Tupperware Party and my oldest offspring turns 16 this month. Oy I cannot believe 16 years has passed since I held that beautiful baby boy in my arms for the first time. He was actually my smallest offspring. You'd never know it now since he's 6'1" tall and has such a deep manly voice. My babies are growing up so quickly. Makes this mama nostalgic. </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
The littlest offspring and I began construction on the volcano yesterday. Not the prettiest sight and I do believe another day of drying is in order before painting can begin but we sure had fun doing it and what a mess we made. </div>
<br />
Heres our papier mache recipe:</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<div style="text-align: center;">
2 Cup Flour</div>
</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<div style="text-align: center;">
16 oz water</div>
</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<div style="text-align: center;">
1 TBLS Salt</div>
</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<div style="text-align: center;">
Mix the ingredients into a liquidy paste. </div>
</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<div style="text-align: center;">
*It is best to cut your newspaper strips before the mix or else the mix will dry out if sitting too long. </div>
</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<div style="text-align: center;">
Dip you pieces into the mix and remove excess by sliding the strip between your fingers. Wrap around your project and let dry. *may take a day or two depending on the size of your project. </div>
</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<span style="color: #bf9000; font-size: large;">Happy Sunday</span> all my yarnies, crafters and hookers how are we today? </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Its a rainy lazy kind of day so we are taking advantage and doing crafts. The offspring have received so many craft kits for birthdays and Christmas etc that they pretty much have a craft a week. ;) Which is fine with this mama. I love that they get so involved and get in touch with their creative sides. </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<div style="text-align: center;">
<div style="text-align: center;">
The <span style="color: #0b5394;">Blue</span> & <span style="color: #7f6000;">Gold</span> banquet went well yesterday. The food was delish and lots of laughs were had. But the best part of the day was seeing Offspring #3 receive his Wolf Badge. He has worked really hard this year towards his rank and achievements. He also received a gold arrow point and 2 silver arrow points. I'm so proud of my boy. </div>
Okay so now is everyone ready for a sneaky peek at the <span style="color: #cc0000; font-size: large;">Project of the Week</span>?? </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Remember I told you it is actually a 'pair' of something. And I said they are my favorite summertime thing. I do have some tweaking to do with this pattern but I'm confident I can make it work better for me. </div>
<span style="color: blue; font-size: x-large;"> Hello</span> there Hookers and Yarnies. Welcome to another installment of...<span style="color: red; font-family: Courier New, Courier, monospace; font-size: large;"><u>Project of the Week</u></span>. I hope you all are happy and well this fine Thursday evening (I apologize for the late start). </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
I have something exciting to share with you.....<span style="color: blue; font-size: x-large;">Hair Accessories!!</span> That's right wait till you see this. When I saw how to make one of these (see link below with picture) I couldn't believe it myself. But then I did it and BAM! what a treat. I don't know how many of you have daughters and/or daughters with long hair but I have two of them and it seems I am constantly buying elastics and hair ties and clips etc. So this was a real gold mine for me to find. A gorgeous simple way to spruce up their plain old elastics and clips. And they <span style="color: lime; font-size: large;">LOVE</span> them!<br />
<br />
There are several different styles that I did. Some spruced up elastics, scrunchies, plain hair clips and some hair combs. I am so in love. This was a super fun Project of the Week. I hope you all like them as much as we do.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Well that is this weeks Project of the Week. Please comment below and let me know what you think of these pieces. I had a lot of fun making them. I love that there are so many ways to make a plain old hair snap or elastic look so elegant or fun. These items will be up in the <a href="https://www.etsy.com/shop/CrochetByKatieK">Etsy</a> shop tonight. Go and check them out. </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
So I've been meaning to ask you all if there is something you'd like to see me make. Please let me know in the comments below. I'm always up for suggestions and challenges. Fire away friends and until next time......</div>
Ahh to first of all ..... I'm ready for spring!! My oldest keeps saying "I hear the birds chirping mom, that means its spring". Yea well that may be true but I just cant feel the excitement yet because I can still feel this winter weighing in heavy. </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
But what does excite me is the Project of the Week I've been working on. This time there are actually a few items that make up the entire project. </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="color: #20124d; font-size: x-large;">INTRIGUED??</span></div>
So....its been a busy weekend in my little corner of the world. The hubs' birthday was today. Yay Happy Birthday Hubs!! Yesterday we went to my sisters for dinner and cake. Today I spent the day cleaning and I made him a cake for the children and I to share with him as some of the children were unable to make it yesterday. Yes we actually had half the amount of children in the house this weekend. And it was so peaceful. Three of the 6 minions that we claim to be ours (hehehe) were away since Friday evening. </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
I tried to start cleaning and re-organizing my craft room today.....didn't get too far. So this week I am really going to try to get it done. I've been lazy this winter and just basically thrown my yarn back into any old spot rather than the color coordinated spots they belong. I've begun to separate all my cotton yarn.....holy crap do I have a lot of cotton yarn.....but ya know one can never have too much yarn really. ;) </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Since I didnt really have a lot of time to commit this weekend to beginning my weekly project I have started to redo my cotton yarn balls. Until a short time ago I would just wind the yarn into a ball. Well I have since learned to 'yarn cake'. Upon going through and separating all my cotton yarn I have discovered that I had a lot of balls of cotton yarn that need to be caked. So in between sweeping and mopping the floors, baking a birthday cake, several loads of laundry, watching our favorite weekly show The Walking Dead (actually during that) I would make a quick 'yarn cake'. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-eP8dhREC6zI/Uy-19kyj5uI/AAAAAAAAGLo/pLmlT51PIpk/s1600/PhotoGrid_1395635570309.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-eP8dhREC6zI/Uy-19kyj5uI/AAAAAAAAGLo/pLmlT51PIpk/s1600/PhotoGrid_1395635570309.jpg" height="320" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
As you can see I still have a ways to go before I'm done but I'm making progress. Something is better than nothing right. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I hope everyone had a great weekend. The weather was pretty decent her in New England. I hear we are supposed to get a storm this week though. Yikes!! I really am ready for spring. I think we all miss the sun more than we realized. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Well friends its late and its quiet here in my abode so I'm going to put a movie on Netflix and do some yarn caking. ;) </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I wish you all a happy Monday. Dont forget to come back on Thursday and see The Project of the Week. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Til then ..... Happy Hooking!! </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<div>
As I've mentioned I'm preparing for a Spring Fair coming up in May so I have been looking for projects related to warm weather and/or household use items. </div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
So you can imagine my excitement when I came across a pattern from <a href="https://www.etsy.com/shop/gammyshouse" style="font-family: Calibri; font-size: 11pt;">https://www.etsy.com/shop/gammyshouse</a>. </div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"> Its called <span style="color: blue; font-size: large;"><b>Tawashi!!</b></span></span></div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><span style="color: blue; font-size: large;"><b><br /></b></span></span></div>
<div>
Basically its a glass/cup scrubber similar to a bottle brush. Its genius. I've made several this week. This pattern works up pretty quickly so I've pretty much completed one a night. I know I could do more in a day but its been a busy week so I set my goal at one per night. So are you ready? </div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-0UfpgrhKAEQ/UyuTkDgPPcI/AAAAAAAAGIY/2yYtMYWZRsE/s1600/Tawashi+Buquet.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-0UfpgrhKAEQ/UyuTkDgPPcI/AAAAAAAAGIY/2yYtMYWZRsE/s1600/Tawashi+Buquet.jpg" height="320" width="240" /></a><a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-BttybtDakpo/UyuTkHJGWQI/AAAAAAAAGIc/nLdyKxMiBA4/s1600/Tawashi+-+close+up.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-BttybtDakpo/UyuTkHJGWQI/AAAAAAAAGIc/nLdyKxMiBA4/s1600/Tawashi+-+close+up.jpg" height="320" width="240" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
Here they are. You simply put them on a wooden spoon, or in this case plastic since that was all I could find on short notice. Its brilliant!! You can take them off easily enough and through them in the washer machine every so often. You can slide them off after use to help it dry. Its 100% cotton using Sugar N' Cream cotton yarn. I've got tons of colors. On my hook right now is a nice orange/pink called Candy Colors.<br />
<br />
I am stoked with this find. I had some good guesses from the sneak peeks though. Someone said a bunting (which gave me a great idea *insert evil grin*) another said a bath pouf (which I do currently have for sale in the <a href="https://www.etsy.com/shop/CrochetByKatieK">Etsy Shop</a>).<br />
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
Now on to next weeks project....I'm probably way more excited than I should be about these weekly projects but to be honest thats what is giving me the motivation and focus to stay organized and build my dream business. I know it isnt going to happen overnight and I think I'm ok with that (or I'm learning to be). But I have to start somewhere. So here I am at the starting line. Thanks for taking the journey with me friends.</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
I hope you have enjoyed the Project of the Week.......Tawashi. *ta washi your glass* :) </div>
<div>
I look forward to reading your comments below. And hearing about your successes and even your failures (we all fail sometimes, trick is to get back up and try again). Let me know when you try this pattern if you loved it as much as I did. </div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
Stay tuned to see next weeks: Project of the Week</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
So until next time......</div>
<div>
<span style="color: #741b47;"> <span style="font-size: large;"> <span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;">Happy Hooking!!</span> </span></span></div>
Its been a crazy busy week leading up to the HUMP of Wednesday.<br />
<br />
<div style="text-align: left;">
So first of all take a look to the <b><span style="font-size: large;"><<==</span> </b>LEFT and see my new addition......my Etsy shop is officially Open For Business!! I am so happy. Please go take a look. I will be working on more product placement but for now I'm OPEN. Phew. </div>
<br />
Second......I've been asked to showcase my shop at The Washington County Fair. <a href="http://www.washingtoncountyfair-ri.com/">http://www.washingtoncountyfair-ri.com/</a><br />
I realize for many of you that means nothing....but to me it means so much. That is the county I grew up in and that is the annual fair that I, along with just about everyone I knew, looked forward to and attended each year. Every night there is usually a very well known country artist singing. There are truck pulls and tractor pulls. There are livestock competitions. There is great food made by local restaurants and people. There are rides and games for all. There are so many vendors, all of whom are creators. Handmade everything. Wood carvers, jewelry makers, tshirts, every kind of craft you can think of. Its an awesome place and I feel so incredibly blessed to have a spot. If I could say that any one place or experience ever made me want to have my own shop and create my own things this would be it. I have spent many hours of my life walking around this fair admiring the skill and talent people possess and learning that yes it takes guts to put yourself out there through your creations but the reward of having people admire your work is worth it. <br />
<br />
Its been a rough year for the Mr. and I financially but I am finally starting to feel like something good is happening and our lives can begin to move forward again. My business will grow. It has to start somewhere.<br />
<br />
<div style="font-family: 'Helvetica Neue', Helvetica, Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14px; line-height: 20px; margin-bottom: 10px; text-align: center;">
I must create a system or be enslaved by another mans; I will not reason and compare: my business is to create.</div>
Ok I have added BLOG to every Thursday of my calendar. My aim is to have a new project in the works or finished to showcase and discuss. I have my project list on the wall right in front of me to keep me focused.<br />
<br />
So right now I am working on product building and spring/summer type projects. As I mentioned before my friend Deb and I have gotten together and attended a few booth sales during the holiday season and it was fun and fairly profitable. I know in time as we become more involved and get a better network going we can make a pretty decent profit for our businesses. I have recently acquired my Permit to Make Sales at Retail. YAY!! And we have a three day fair coming up in May. So I have been feverishly working on some things. This week I've been building up some baby sets. Hats, Booties and Thumb less Mittens. The way I figure it... its been a long cold winter. I'm willing to bet there's going to be a good size baby boom at the end of the summer. :)<br />
<br />
Here are the links for the patterns I used for these baby sets. :)<br />
<br />
One Piece Wonder Bootie <a href="http://cats-rockin-crochet.blogspot.com/2011/05/cats-one-piece-wonder-bootie-pattern.html">http://cats-rockin-crochet.blogspot.com/2011/05/cats-one-piece-wonder-bootie-pattern.html</a><br />
<br />
Thumbless Baby Mittens <a href="http://www.crochethooksyou.com/thumbless-crochet-baby-mittens-pattern/">http://www.crochethooksyou.com/thumbless-crochet-baby-mittens-pattern/</a><br />
<br />
Basic Beanie - I used the preemie size for these sets as I was thinking of newborns not toddlers. <a href="http://thefrugalfreegal.com/free-basic-baby-beanies-crochet-pattern/">http://thefrugalfreegal.com/free-basic-baby-beanies-crochet-pattern/</a><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-sNbEBngMPGE/UyJkTWTYKNI/AAAAAAAABto/UQAYQXXlbIk/s1600/20140313_205203.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-sNbEBngMPGE/UyJkTWTYKNI/AAAAAAAABto/UQAYQXXlbIk/s1600/20140313_205203.jpg" height="200" width="150" /></a><a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-IpIwxr-v4GM/UyJkRNFex8I/AAAAAAAABtg/XjJ3qWi1_1I/s1600/20140313_205209.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-IpIwxr-v4GM/UyJkRNFex8I/AAAAAAAABtg/XjJ3qWi1_1I/s1600/20140313_205209.jpg" height="200" width="150" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
So I was also asked recently by my bestie who absolutely loves the show Firefly if I could make her a Jayne Hat. So here it is. Along with a pair of long finger-less gloves. :) She was thrilled with the hat and I hope she will love the gloves. This was a fun hat to make. :) I love being challenged. I've yet to watch the show but I saw the clip that goes with this hat. There are not many patterns available for this particular piece so I kind of had to just take bits and bobs from a few different ones. This hat was knitted by the way. The gloves were crocheted.<br />
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-V0wJ2J4rZP4/UyJlaoTxfqI/AAAAAAAABuM/e2Yqn1K0R3w/s1600/Messenger_5849726217747312904_13946834131723651.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-V0wJ2J4rZP4/UyJlaoTxfqI/AAAAAAAABuM/e2Yqn1K0R3w/s1600/Messenger_5849726217747312904_13946834131723651.jpg" height="200" width="150" /></a><a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-FexFUxqp51w/UyJkVnjpzwI/AAAAAAAABtw/TUQsOD2grPU/s1600/20140305_155310.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-FexFUxqp51w/UyJkVnjpzwI/AAAAAAAABtw/TUQsOD2grPU/s1600/20140305_155310.jpg" height="200" width="150" /></a></div>
<br />
Now as I mentioned the Jayne hat I kind of just put together myself using a basic hat on my 36 peg loom. The earflaps part I used from a pattern that I found here <a href="http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/my-jayne-hat">http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/my-jayne-hat</a>. There is a section labeled ear flaps. The main reason I didnt use the whole pattern is because I am new to knitting and do not have the correct size circular needles called for in this pattern and I seriously couldnt figure it out anyhow. I got the pattern for the fingerless gloves by watching this tutorial <a href="https://www.google.com/url?sa=t&rct=j&q=&esrc=s&source=web&cd=1&cad=rja&uact=8&ved=0CCoQtwIwAA&url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.youtube.com%2Fwatch%3Fv%3Dp9UnIWqAZnM&ei=MNAjU6rrIK3K0AHz5oDIBg&usg=AFQjCNExxyMloqOZF7fvroayzK_D_bYRJA&sig2=lxz7_o9PevYQpC8R0DN6jQ">https://www.google.com/url?sa=t&rct=j&q=&esrc=s&source=web&cd=1&cad=rja&uact=8&ved=0CCoQtwIwAA&url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.youtube.com%2Fwatch%3Fv%3Dp9UnIWqAZnM&ei=MNAjU6rrIK3K0AHz5oDIBg&usg=AFQjCNExxyMloqOZF7fvroayzK_D_bYRJA&sig2=lxz7_o9PevYQpC8R0DN6jQ</a> now mind you about 1/4 of the way through this kind of long and slow (but very well done) tutorial I just basically figured it out and kept going with the super easy pattern. My friend specifically requested the non-thumb-hugger because she is a gamer and likes to have her thumb and fingers free. This tutorial includes the thumb hugger addition. Kind of nice to know for future reference.<br />
<br />
<u> </u><br />
<br />
OK so I'm hoping to have my Etsy shop open by the end of next week. My bestie is coming over to take pics of me. YIKES!!! She will be helping me with my product descriptions and shop story as well. She is a magician with words and sadly I am not. I can make the pieces but ask me to write about them or myself ..... forget it. Writing was never my strong suit. So being the super awesome person she is she has agreed to help me out. I just love her. :)<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
So that's it for tonight. Stay tuned to see whats on my hook next week. And as always feel free to share whats on your hook. </div>
So we have our first one this weekend. Both days, Saturday and Sunday. I am so excited. I've been working night and day to make as much of my items as possible. I've got 2 blankets to show and sell. I've got slouchy hats, beanie hats, ear/head bands, boot cuffs, bath cloths, Christmas stockings, ruffle scarves etc. I hope I do well. I love making things like this and I'd love for people to wear them and appreciate them. Its so nice to have a hobby that you can share with others. I put together a pattern book. Basically its a 3-ring binder with page protectors and patterns i've done or really want to do. So I put some pics of actual pieces I've done in there too and I put a little price sticker on the top of the page. I've divided the patterns into categories and have a table of contents etc. I got a package of sales order slips also so I'm really hoping to get a few pre-orders also. That would be wonderful. My friend has lots of duck tape accessories that shes been working on as well as some other great crafts. I sure hope we do well. I know we've both worked hard preparing for it. I spent some time setting up a mock table here in the craft room to get a feel for how I'm going to display everything. I have 3 styrofoam mannequin heads to use as well. I think that gives a more professional look. I hope so anyway.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-BBhsXDooq4A/Uo69EAEMAII/AAAAAAAABxk/IOUVtn6FwfM/s1600/20131028_163221.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-BBhsXDooq4A/Uo69EAEMAII/AAAAAAAABxk/IOUVtn6FwfM/s320/20131028_163221.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
Ok well I'm off to get some more products done. I am trying to cram in as much as I can. I've got to bang out a couple more women's beanie hats. I'm thinking of doing a couple pairs of basic fingerless gloves also. We'll see if I get to those this time around.<br />
Happy Hooking!!<br />
Of course there are the customary few boxes that have not been unpacked and are tucked neatly into a corner in the basement. But thats mostly because I dont have the same spaces as the old house so I dont know yet where those things will take up residency in the new house. My two favorite areas of the house seem to be the kitchen, which I keep rearranging things in and making everyone crazy *insert evil grin*, and the downstairs classroom/craft room, which I also keep rearranging things in and making myself crazy. :) I think the kids and I are settling in nicely to the new house and to the homeschooling adventure. I absolutely love that the stress the kids had experienced all last year has disappeared. I love being able to work with them individually as well. I think it really helps them relax and focus more. I love incorporating fun into my lessons. You not only learn better when your mind is free and relaxed you make tons of memories. I admit by the end of dinner time I am usually very frazzled. Bed time cant come soon enough for me most days :) But its worth it. At least I'm stressed because I'm spending time with my kids. I'm very grateful to have them and I am completely blessed. The day will come (sometimes not as fast as I wish) when they are all grown up and moved out and wont need mom anymore and I know that I will look back at these days and despite the stresses, my heart will swell with love and memories.<br />
<br />
I've been working like crazy lately to set up spaces at the holiday bazaars and craft fairs for the season. I have been making beanies, slouchies, earbands, Christmas stockings, potholders, bath puffs etc like a machine to make sure I have some stock to bring with me. I've also been working on the online store at Storenvy (see button in upper left). Taking photos of everything and setting up product descriptions is actually pretty time consuming. But it is all well worth it. This has always been a dream of mine.<br />
<br />
I need to start scheduling some serious blog time. I really have to just pick a day of the week and carve a block of time. Thats on my to-do list this week. I wonder what day most of you blog on. Do you choose one day and stick to it or do you just blog whenever the mood strikes? Help me out friends :)Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4644908205191002953.post-31707547355137524012013-09-14T02:19:00.000-04:002013-09-14T02:19:46.345-04:00Moving.....BLAHI seriously dislike....strongly dislike moving. I feel like I'm being pulled in so many different directions. I'm so frustrated and discouraged. We are officially moving tomorrow. I'm exhausted. I know tomorrow will be worse. My nephews are coming to help, which is awesome. They really are good kids. I'm finally falling asleep so this is a super short one.Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4644908205191002953.post-24534492975189904152013-08-14T02:43:00.001-04:002013-08-14T02:43:11.668-04:00Sickness<p dir=ltr>Well since around 8pm Monday night I've been sick. I was nauseous and had a major headache. I woke up a few hours later with severe shooting pains up my spine. I've been sleeping on and off since then. One minute I'm freezing the next I'm boiling up.  Moving hurts so badly. My hips, my spine, my shoulders and my head hurt so badly. I don't feel nauseous now but I'm just in pain and feel like crap. I don't understand what's happening. Its one thing to be sick. But this makes no sense to me. I don't know why I'm sick or what to do to feel better. Its very frustrating. And so now about 20 minutes ago my poor Alexa woke up vomiting. Thankfully she's back asleep on the love seat (since I'm on the couch and can't climb the stairs). My poor baby. <br>
Being down right now just isn't an option for me. There is a lot of stressful things going on right now and no one can take care of mom when I'm not. This is just a really bad time for me to be sick. And I just don't know what to do to feel better. </p>
She got a gift card to Toys R Us for her birthday so she has been dying to go shopping. I stopped into Michaels for some pen pal/filofax/swap supplies. Got some really great stuff on clearance I'm pretty excited about. Had some lunch together too. I love spending time with her. Shes a pretty fun kiddo to hang out with. :) </p>
Ive had so much going on the last several months.<br />
<br />
For starters Mom is not doing well. Her health has been getting a lot worse and the toll its taking on my family and I is starting to catch up to us. The doctors are pretty sure the cancer has spread elsewhere in her body. They found a mass on her liver and did a biopsy, we are still waiting for the results. In the meantime her parkinsons is getting worse and the skin cancer disease she has is getting very severe. :(<br />
<br />
A couple of months ago we found out my sister has breast cancer, she had surgery to remove the masses and do a reconstruction of the healthy breast. While in surgery the doctor found masses in her healthy breast. So sometime during the winter she will most likely be having a full mastectomy. As for now she started radiation this past Monday and we are hopeful that will be effective.<br />
<br />
I myself have had clear mamograms (thankfully). I have been going through a lot of neurological testing to determine what the cause of my migraines is. Thankfully its not a brain tumor, sadly it is Severe Chronic Migraine which is hard to treat. I am now taking 3 meds and still have had several sever flares since beginning treatment. I also have carpal tunnel in both wrists and will be meeting the doc in a couple weeks to plan surgery. Which means I wont be crocheting much during recovery. :( They also found a cyst inside my left knee so I am meeting an orthopedic surgeon to determine the course of action on that. :(<br />
<br />
ITS BEEN A SERIOUSLY ROUGH COUPLE OF MONTHS!!<br />
<br />
On a good note my kiddos are all healthy and happy. :) We have had a relatively good summer despite the health issues. We've had several great Cub Scout outings, which we always love. We did a week of Cub Scout Day Camp. I volunteered and the girls both got to attend also. We all 4 had a blast. It was a lonnnnnng week but so worth it. I havent been able to spend that much time with the kids in a long time and it was so fun. We've gone fishing on the boat several times. Alexa caught herself a nice fish. Yum!! We have a few more weeks til school starts....yay... I mean oh boy. :)<br />
<br />
I had a dry spell with my crochet creating. It was horrible. I felt like I was in mourning. Thankfully I broke out it and got my Cro-Jo back. I've been working on a few projects. I will post them in another post later this evening. I have been corresponding with some new found pen pals, one from England and another from Australia. They are both wonderful ladies and we've had some fun getting to know each other. :)<br />
So much has been going on. Still taking care of mom. Its taking a toll. On me, my kids, my relationship. But we will make it through. Im trying to remain positive. <br>
Its not the easiest thing to do. Ive got several projects going on right now. A groovyghan is among them. And I love it. So far its the most fun project ive had. Ive recently tried a sock loom which is very hard at first but I think im getting the hang of it. Ive also tried the knook which is fun but a little difficult to get used to. Maybe with a little more practice I'll get the hang of it. Ive also gotten some knitting needles and a book to see if maybe I can learn that too. I know it seems like a lot but I tend to bore easily so I need different things to keep my attention. So we'll see what I can learn lol. Ill post some pics of projects soon. For now ive got a sitter for mom and no children to worry about so the man has asked if id like to go out for dinner. I will never pass up an opportunity like that. :) </p>
I just dont understand it. She had the perfect opportunity today to be spoiled without the annoyance of younger siblings. She had my undivided attention and she pouted and whined the whole time. Im annoyed and aggrevated. I dont understand why she just cant be happy with what she has. Example: we went sledding, great big hill, very fast and steep. Perfect!! She whined that the hill across the way was bigger and better and she wanted to go to that one. So we said ok but its not better. You will regret the choice but we arent coming back to this one. So we drove over and she immediately said it is smaller. She went down twice and then sat and pouted. So I asked if ahe was sledding or leaving. She choose leaving. Now she moping and pouting. How do I teach her to be happy with what she has? And to realize how blessed she is to have what she does? She always wants what everyone else has even if its not better than hers. I dont understand.  What have I done wrong?  Ive tried to teach my children these lessons but apparently ive failed. :( </p>
<p dir="ltr">After a week and a half in the hospital, my mom came home today! Related: my mom came home today. And I'm grateful that she is well enough to return home but her demand is just too much sometimes. Most times I can handle it but today was just not a good day from the start. I'm so stressed over my youngest child and her inability to learn everyday things. I don't believe in corporal punishment. I believe in time outs and loss of privileges. But they just don't work on her and I'm lost. I just don't have the kind of patience required for her. I'm not that kind of mom. :( I hate saying that but I'm just not made that way. I want to help her but she just doesn't get it and worse just doesn't seem to care. She smiles and grins when she's in trouble and just continues with the bad behavior anyway. She's obsessed with cutting hair, her own and/or others as well as clothes. She's banned from using scissors at all now. I even had to tell the teacher because she cut her hair and clothes the first time during school. An appointment has been made with the childrens neuro development center so she will be evaluated but today is just one of those days that makes for a difficult day. And my mom coming home and being so demanding just doesn't help. On top of all that we are entertaining my family tomorrow to celebrate Christmas with my mom so I've been preparing for that as well. Cleaning, making pies, grocery shopping, final touches to gifts etc. I'm just exhausted and overwhelmed today and I don't like being cranky. I'm miserable and I want to scream and cry and be angry at the world. At the same time I feel ashamed for complaining. I know some people will read this who would give anything to have their mom to take care of instead of having lost her too soon to some disease or other death and there are 26 families right this very moment grieving for children taken too soon that would give anything to be dealing with a misbehaved child. But I am here now and I'm dealing with these things and unfortunately sometimes these things become overwhelming. And today is just one of those days. </p>
